Jingle Red

Christmas is finally here!  It's one of my favorite times of the year.  As I put red ornaments on the tree and decorate my home in poinsettias, I get excited about the color red all over again.  Jingle Red, Jingle Red, Jingle all your Red! This is the perfect season to rock the red in your closet.  If you don't have any, it's time to head out to the mall and buy a gift for yourself and make sure it's red, baby!  How about this double breasted, military-inspired Calvin Klein Funnel Collared Coat?  I love the details in the neck!

We've had some downright nasty, wet, chilly weather here in Southern California and all over the country lately, but you can stay warm in these sweaters that come in shades of Cranberry from Macys like this Jones New York Cashmere Cowl Neck and the Fever Cardigan.  Oh!  It's gettin' hot in here!  But watch out...people might start cuddling up with you out of the blue!

If you're working right up to the holiday like I am, why not light up the office with this red-hot Viktoria Long Sleeve sweater dress with a twist knot neckline.  You will definitely turn up the excitement at the company potluck.  But if you're headed out to a Christmas cocktail party, you can start a chain reaction as all eyes turn to the details in this Suzi Chin Cap Sleeve Cocktail Dress with chain accents.

And since we've been helping you set trends all year 'round...one last thing to ask Santa for is one of the biggest trends of 2010.  Bright red lips for glamour and feminine mystique.  If you decide on a more neutral colored dress, the red lipstick will make your entire ensemble "pop."  Speaking of "pop," superstar Katy Perry got a ticket from the fashion police by wearing Alberto Guardiani's black patent leather pumps with red lipstick heels all wrong!  Don't get me wrong, I love Katy Perry, but maybe she should stick to what she normally gets right, wearing the red lipstick on her lips.  Make sure you don't get cited too!   Decorate your lips with fabulous bold, red lipstick from Nars Cosmetics.  Log on to get step by step instructions.  With the right red clothing and makeup, you may want to wrap yourself up as a Christmas gift for someone special.  No red bow necessary.

Ok, Ladies, as always, wear what you eat!  That means you must be eating Cranberries if you're dressing in cranberry red.  Take advantage of the season and treat yourself with cranberry sauce, dried cranberries, or even cranberry juice.  If you're having a urinary tract issue, your doctor will no doubt prescribe cranberry juice.  That's because doctors know that cranberries are rich in citric and other acids, and Vitamin C.  Cranberries have a natural astringent that makes urine acidic and prevents bacterial growth.  Ewww.  Ok, that's enough about that. But here's just one last fact...Cranberries are full of antioxidants that help with cancer prevention.  They also prevent plaque from growing on your teeth.  So, beautiful smile, beautiful red lips, and a beautiful cranberry-colored dress.  What a winning combo to end the year.  Be careful  not to outdo Jesus as God's gift to earth this Christmas!

With that, we wish you Peace on Earth as we say Peace Out!  Thanks for following us this year, stay tuned for next year's fabulo-city...yeah, we just made that up.  And don't forget with Palette 2 Palate, color is in all year 'round.

Neutral Warmth

You can step out boldly, wearing neutral colors this fall and winter.  I can see you now flaunting this softly colored INC International Concepts Sweater, but making a strong statement with the faux fur.  The neutrals can add some warmth even when temps fall below freezing. So I'm excited to add some great camel, caramel, and beige hues to your winter wardrobe.  The lighter shades can also add a touch of elegance to other autumnal colors like tomato red, and of course burnt orange which we mentioned in our last post. Another great way to wear this color is by adding a delicate touch that can work from season to season  like this Caslon Dolman Sleeve Fleece Cardigan to any of your favorite tops.

Of course you can always dress up your winter gear wearing neutral tones from "head to handbag" with this cute Faux Fur Beret from Nordstrom and this Kate Spade Satchel.  Step out in style while Christmas shopping in these Macy's B Makowsky Boots
And of course if you're wearing these wonderful earth tones, you should be eating them too! Remember Ladies, what's our favorite motto again?  Wear what you eat!  So eat  walnuts this season. while wearing these  amazing colors. Walnuts are high in Fiber, Antioxidants, Vitamins, Proteins and loaded with Omega 3 fatty acids (the good fats!). Omega 3 fatty acids have been shown to lower LDL, or bad cholesterol.   This nut is also super healthy for your heart, and you can show your friends and family  some love for braving the cold and joining your holiday celebration, by serving up a delicious salad sprinkled with roasted walnuts for a flavorful crunch.  You can also add them to some oatmeal or grab a handful of them for a healthy protein-rich snack.  With all the errands you have to run this holiday season, don't go nuts, eat 'em!  Hey, get your head out of the gutter!  And don't forget with Palette 2 Palate color is in all year 'round!

Autumn Harvest: Burnt Orange

Harvest season is here and it's inspiring.  During this season people fall in love and take walks  hand-in-hand  to catch a glimpse of the beautiful colors outside, like the burnt orange of leaves floating down from the trees. Of course autum leaves come in many other bold and beautiful hues like red, bright gold and brown , but  I'm celebrating the harvest wearing burnt orange in a very fashionable way with the Eileen Fisher Lightweight Hooded jacket  and this Façonnable Crewneck Merino Wool  sweater  above to help me stay warm.  I'm getting ready to go on a stroll, so I've just picked up this Echo Scarf shaped as a Soft Shine Inifinity Ring from Macy's to help me stay warm and cozy this breezy fall evening.
I've started down a gorgeous little trail just beyond my backyard, to meet my neighbor and friend and head out to visit a pumpkin patch.  A few leaves have fallen, so like a kid I jump on them!  I love to hear the crunching sound the bright colored leaves on the ground make when you walk on them.  It takes me back to my childhood, but these days as a  nutrition-savvy fashionista, I'm not wearing my ratty old tennis shoes.  No, this time around my footwear matches the fall leaves, burnt orange high heeled extended calf boots.  Always accessorizing when I'm not wearing  the color of the week as my top or bottoms, I've got a cute little Tano Convertible Crossbody Leather Hobo on my shoulder during my little stroll.  Can't play in the leaves too long, so let me check my my  matching watch to stay on-time.
Once we get to the pumpkin patch, we're looking for the perfect pumpkins, not just to carve into jack-o-lanterns for Halloween, but also to eat!  We won't be throwing away any parts of the pumpkin.  We'll use pieces of  it for some amazing recipes.  Pumpkins are super high in Vitamin A and carotenoids, known for keeping the immune system strong and healthy, and helping your vision.  Beta carotene in pumpkins is a powerful disease-fighting anti-oxidant. Pumpkins are also loaded with fiber.  During this holiday season, when we're tempted to eat unhealthy foods, putting who-knows-what into our bodies, it's very important to have a healthy digestive tract.   So don't be scared this Halloween and Harvest season.  The pieces you carve out of your pumpkins can make for delicious, healthy recipes.  Here's one:  Pumpkin and Squash soup. Yummy!
That's it for now, don't forget, with Palette 2 Palate color is in all year 'round!

Commanding Style

I've always loved men in military uniforms. That military look is so unique, there's no mistaking it for anything else. It's absolutely powerful and commanding. That's why this fall I'm very excited to rock the military look for myself! Military fashions are all over the runways right now and they won't be going out of style any time soon. So go ahead, girlfriends, feel sexy and carry yourself with authority while wearing these Macy's military-inspired jackets like the INC Band Collar Military Cutaway Jacket, and the American Rag Distressed Stitched Pocket. Nordstrom also carries a variety of military-inspired looks including sweaters, shirts and jackets.
Before I go any farther, I have to throw in this helpful tip. Ladies, Ladies DO NOT over-do the military combinations. You want to get the right "Attention." So polish up your look with one or the other, either a military style top OR military bottoms, but not both! Military style cargo pants are an important fashion piece to add to your check list this fall like these Macy's Grane Skinny Cargo Pants, and should be worn with a very simple top or a great sweater.
Don’t worry you don’t have to look like a drill sergeant to wear this style. Instead, get excited to "salute" the look with accessories by adding a pair of shoes or a handbag. Get a pair of boots with an array of buttons, chains, or zippers like the dark olive suede boot by 7 for all Mankind Ego to wear with your jeans or add an army green military handbag like this MZ Wallace Gigi tote to your shoulder to combat fashion boredom.
As always, my trendy recruits, if you're wearing green you should be eating green. The military might have it's top secret weapons or classified missions, but here's one super food you I'll de-classify, that you can add to your arsenal....Greens! Collard greens are loaded with Vitamins, especially K. Vitamin K helps keep cuts and scrapes from bleeding too much and starts the healing process. So if you're like a rookie at bootcamp, and tend to be accident prone, might be a good idea for you to start eating your greens. Together with Calcium, Vitamin K helps build strong bones. One cup of Collard Greens gives you 27% of your Daily Value. Ladies between 19 and 50 years old need about 1,000 milligrams of calcium a day, and those over 51 need to increase to about 1,200 milligrams.
Stocking up on your collard greens and wearing your military greens might just help you move up the ranks on the fashion ladder. So don't forget with Palette 2 Palate, color is in all year 'round!

Black is Beautiful!

I love black. And since in the last post I showed you all the ways you can work with white...now of course, it's time to showcase basic black. Like white, this is also a must for the fall. Black is one of the easiest colors with which you can mix and match and most people feel very comfortable wearing it. I often hear people say just wear black and it'll look like you shed a few pounds. Depending on the outfit, sometimes that's true.

If you have not yet invested in the little black dress, it's time, honey. You can never go wrong when you show up in it, like this Tiered Fringe Dress from Ann Taylor. It's really a show stopper. If you're a skirt type of girl, there's many ways to work your basic black pencil skirt like this long Ponte Pencil skirt from White House Black Market. There's always something sexy about that pencil skirt. One other hot item you can incorporate into your fall wardrobe is the Skinny Black Riding Pant like this one from Michael Kors.

Those riding pants will go great with a mix of leather (and if the budget's tight...maybe pleather) goods...like these two sizzling hot jackets. You can go basic with this Trouve Structured Shoulder Leather Blazer or add a little twist with some ruffles like this romance-inspired Tahari 'Perry' Ruffle Front Lambskin Leather Scuba Jacket both from Nordstrom. Both of these jackets can take you through the fall with great style and sophistication.

Since we're talking leather goods, dont' neglect your feet! If you can, honey, save the extra dollars and go leather not pleather for your tootsies.
A great pair of boots can boost your confidence enough to kick any negative people in your life to the curb, and let them know that "these boots are made for walking" just like Nancy Sinatra or Jessica Simspon for you younger chicks. This fall you have your choice from this military-inspired lace-up boot to an ankle boot or if you really want to work a full length boot try this Steve Madden Neley Over the Knee Boot. No matter which pair you have in mind, black leather boots are always a good investment.Shiny black leather outfits inspire me to eat shiny black berries! No pleather here...just the real deal...when it comes to super foods. Blackberries are packed full of anti-oxidants and fiber, along with Vitamins C and K. They're also rich in Anthocyanins, the pigments found in many berries, which scientists from Clemson University say can help fight breast cancer cells. So eat up, girlfriend, and remember with Palette 2 Palate Color (and black!) is in all year 'round!

Fallin' For White

As autumn gets closer, I find myself "falling" for white. Those of you who fell for the myth that you can't wear white after Labor Day, get over it! It's a new day, honey. White is wearable all year 'round, it all depends on how you style it. A white collar shirt is a key essential for your wardrobe.

You can definitely spice it up this fall, here's one simple way: Throw a Halogen pleat shoulder cardigan from Nordstrom over this Halogen Poplin button-down blouse and you can stay cozy but still alluring when the temperature drops. This look is perfect for the office.
Here are a couple of other great office looks from Ann Taylor, including the ruffle button down shirt, which you can transition into cocktail hour by adding a little bling to your neck. A white button down shirt with a pencil skirt and a great heel can be a hot mix when heading to your business mixer.

Since we're talking about white, I found one very interesting white vegetable that you might have a hard time tracking down in your produce aisle: white carrots. If you do happen to find some, congratulations! Let me know where, so our other readers can try them too. White carrots have plenty of phytochemicals, aka antioxidants which you've read in previous posts help fight diseases. A quick aside, did you know carrots also come in purple and red along with the white and traditional orange? But I digress. If you just can't find the white carrots to complement your stunning white apparel, don't be sad, there's still plenty of white to eat at your fingertips, like mushrooms.
You have many kinds to choose from like Shiitake and Portabello. These fungi are fun to eat, guys, (haha) because they're low in fat and cholesterol, but high in Vitamin D. So if you're lactose intolerant, and can't handle the dairy, here's a good white alternative.

Remember, with Palette 2 Palate color (and white) is in all year 'round!

Got the Blues?

With the close of summer only a few weeks away... don't get the blues! Take advantage of it and wear the blues, instead! Like this exciting pintucked chambray denim dress from the gap that can be dressed down with flip flops or dressed up with some cute heels. Or if you're a really big denim fan like I am, you might even accessorize it with this awesome Street Level denim purse from Piperlime.
Denim is one of the most fashionable clothing items of all time. It's a must-have for every woman's closet. You might even think of your favorite pair of blue jeans as the one piece that you can combine with any item and feel completely comfortable wearing.

There are jeans to fit all bottoms. Here are some hot denim trends that you can rock for the rest of 2010. The skinny jeans have become a wardrobe essential and they don't seem to be going away. Basic denim trousers are great for the office on casual Fridays. Now.... prepare for the Jegging - half jeans and half leggings- the latest hot item you can rock with a great pair of boots from now through the fall. You can find all of these denim "do's" at The Gap and Piperlime.
Don't just let denim be on the bottom, though, put it on top also! Why not work this Chambray work shirt from Banana Republic which provides a classic and feminine look all in one. It could go great with some khaki pants, a skirt, or shorts, and a chunky brown leather belt. But don't try to change the oil while wearing this. It's way too cute to do any actual work in it!

If you start early with the denim, you can beat the winter blues. And since you're wearing blue, eat blue too! Blueberries are an excellent brain food. Anything blue is great to eat to maintain a strong memory. Blueberries are some of the top fruits when it comes to anti-oxidants which are good for the immune system, and which get rid of materials that can hurt the body's cells. And Ladies, did I mention that blueberries can slow the process of aging? So if you can't afford botox anytime soon.. girl you need to put blueberries on your grocery list now!
That's it for now! Eat those blueberries so you can remember that with Palette 2 Palate color is in all year 'round!

A Twist of Lime

Time to add yet another twist to your wardrobe....How about lime? If someone's showing you their sour face, add some sweetness to their day by showing up in this gorgeous dome-button coat from Talbots. This is one way to really go green, especially if June gloom goes beyond June! You can also wear the cool coat on a cool summer evening and then carry it right into fall. And for a fresh new look on a summer day, squeeze into a little citrus with these lime green blouses also from Talbots: a cotton silk pinwheel print, and a lady-like loop-trim poplin shirt.

And of course, you can always dress up your favorite summer attire with lime accessories like this Ted Baker logo flap clutch from Nordstrom's and the always elegant Kate Spade who showcases her own twist on lime with this fabulous birds of a feather bangle at Piperlime.

Wear what you eat and eat what your wear....that means Lime is on the menu. Vitamin C in Lime keeps your gums healthy, so you can flash those pearly whites with confidence. And ladies, as we've learned from previous posts...the Vitamin C helps rejuvenate your skin. Lime juice and it's oils protect skin from infections and reduces body odor. Some tribes even use it as deodorant. But if you're not living in a primitive village, sweetheart, please, please keep the deodorant! Still, you can squeeze some lime into your water to help with digestion and constipation. And did I mention weight loss? Citric acid in lime is an excellent fat-burner. A glass of warm water with lime juice can help reduce your weight as well as provide a brilliantly refreshing anti-oxidant drink. Anti-oxidants eat up the bad cells called free radicals that can be harmful to your body. The best time for lime is May through October so you'll be able to enjoy them on the cheap for a few more weeks.

That's it for now. Keep puckering up with lime, and remember with Palette 2 Palate, color is in all year 'round!

Remarkable Red

I know you've guessed it by now...that red is one of my favorite colors, and it's not just for lighting up your spring fire. It's a summertime color as well. Whenever I wear anything that color, I feel alive and of course, muy caliente! A vibrant red is a color that goes with any skin tone, including my Latina shade. The color red symbolizes energy, excitement, passion, and good fortune, which we all could use in this recession. There is a reason stop signs are red. They get your attention. This summer make everyone stop dead in their tracks when you emerge in these two red hot numbers from Nordstrom. You can choose from a solid red to a playful print.

If you just want to use red to accessorize, you might want to follow David Bowie's advice: put on your red shoes and dance the blues, or maybe even some salsa or merengue. Either way you can heat up the night with this scarlet and crimson wedge from Anthropologie. Add some excitement to your eyewear with these sultry Michael Kors Aviator shades that show jut a hint of red.

If you're wearing red, then of course, you should be eating red! Ahhhh....wonderful tomatoes. Tomatoes come in many shapes and sizes just like us girls....from cherry to roma to beef steak. No matter which one you choose, enjoy them because the health benefits of tomatoes are off the charts. They are an excellent source of Vitamin C... which if you're one of those girls who's always bumping the corner of the table, don't worry. Vitamin C to the rescue! Vitamin C in tomatoes is good for healing cuts and bruises. Ouch! Ten cuidados, chicas! They are also rich in lycopene which is a powerful anti-oxidant that reduces the risk of cancer and heart disease.

That's it for now. Don't forget....with Palette 2 Palate, color is in all year 'round! Esta pronto, amigas. Until next time, my friends.

Pretty in Pink

Pink to me is such a feminine color to wear. It's soft and it's beautiful. But like peach, comes in many different shades of pretty. When I put on a hot pink shirt, I feel bold, but still very lady-like. As women we're lucky that we can wear pink. Not that men can't wear hot pink, but we all know that they have to be extremely secure in their manhood to make it work. But as ladies we can rock the pink all summer long. Lucky for us, our pink palette has a much wider selection. Here's one way to be pretty in pink at work...try this wrinkle free fitted sateen shirt from Banana Republic. Since you saved yourself some time because you didn't have to iron your shirt, you can spend that extra time parading your hot little pink-wearing self around the office.

Here's one hot little pink sleeveless luxe tank you could've worn under your business suit, but once you leave that power meeting and head out to a more casual event, keep the tank and dress it down with your favorite pair of blue jeans, or skirt....ahhh....so pretty in pink!

For the softer side of you, how about these delicate, sweet, flowing tops from Banana Republic and Nordstrom. This dainty shade will leave everyone absolutely enchanted.

Since we're talking pink, roses came to mind. Pink is a color that can bloom both in your garden and on your lips. It can have your man doing a double take since your lips will be looking so luscious. And since he'll be staring at you, this time he won't get in trouble! Smashbox carries a dazzling pink lipstick called fun and flirty, sure to get any man's attention. Your lips will look fresh and totally kissable.

Your pink dinner selection can be guava. This delicious, exotic fruit is as nutritious as it is gorgeous. Guava is rich in Vitamins A, C, and B3, not mention potassium, and many more vitamins and minerals. But when you take a bite of this mouth-watering fruit, one thing that'll stand out is the texture from the seeds. The guava's seeds and leaves are just as healthy as the fruit itself. The seeds hold beneficial polyunsaturated fatty acids. These are good fats, ladies, that flatter your hips! And we all know from Shakira that the hips don't lie, honey. Guava leaves are rich sources of astringent which help tighten your skin by dissolving oil in it. So guava is the perfect complement to being pretty in pink this summer. Remember, beauty within and out and of course, with Palette 2 Palate color is in all year 'round!

Peach Passion

I see a palette of beautiful, vibrant colors as I walk down the produce aisle, but today the peaches catch my eye. As I pick up the soft, gorgeous fruit, I feel a summer breeze blow through my hair. Then suddenly I'm walking along the beach on a far away, tropical island. When darkness falls, I'm wearing this sultry peach dress from BCBG, ready to explore the island nightlife.

As long as we're imagining things, an extremely muscular handsome man walks around the corner, and asks to buy me a fuity, peach drink, and of course I say, "Yeah! Peach Martini please. It'll match my dress."

Back down here on earth, in the produce aisle, I choose a succulent peach to grace my lunch during a break from work. Speaking of work, Peach is such a great color because it's broad palette goes from bold and bright, to softer shades. Here's a great example: a peach v-neck, textured sweater I found at xoxo that can showcase your softer side during the day, but still display your passion for making a colorful summer statement.

Peach is also a great color for makeup from lips to eyes that can give you a summery shimmer. No matter your skin tone, there's plenty of shades of peach eye shadow you can choose from. Day to night, you can highlight your eyes with the many peachy shades. The tropical tones will bring out a burst of energy from behind your eyes, and warm your complexion. Take a look at the Sephora collection and decide a palette for your special eyes including tropical shades like Hawaiian Beach, Lucky Penny and Shimmering Sunset.

Since you, my dear fashionista, have now learned to wear what you eat, if you're wearing peach, then you're eating what else, but peaches? My passion overflows for peaches for many reasons. Nutritionistas like me consider them a super food because they're packed full of Vitamin A, which you learned in my Orange Crush post, is dynamite for your skin and eyes. So of course you want to keep your eyes healthy so that you can work them eye shadows all summer long! Peaches are filled with carotenoids which are pigments that actually turn into Vitamin A, that can help keep you from blindness as you get older. Not that you would ever let your age show, honey, oh, no.

Ok, that's it for now. Don't forget with Palette 2 Palate color is in all year 'round.

Stripe Salute

I'm always inspired when I look at the American Flag. This Independence Day I want to celebrate Old Glory by helping you work the stripes. No matter where you shop this 4th of July, you're bound to find some striped fashion pieces that will work for you. I found these assorted striped ensembles at Forever 21, Gap, and JC Penney. Now, don't worry, you stripe haters, I haven't lost my fashion sense. There are all kinds of stripes that can work for your body type...yes, yours! I hear from so many of you, that wearing stripes makes you look heavier, but just like body types, stripes also come in all kinds of shapes and sizes. From thick to thin and everything in between. So if you're feeling self-conscious, you can still get away with the stripes, just mix and match them with a little denim jacket or a blazer. This gives the stripes a little twist. If you feel the stripes still aren't working for you, you can stripe it up through your accessories. Here's a great blue and white striped printed canvas shopper handbag from DKNY and a red and white striped Juicy Couture woven hat from Nordstrom. These amazing accessories can give you that festive look. You can spice up a plain white t-shirt or tank top with a striped accessory to add a little patriotic flair.

You know me by now. I just can't get enough of the accessories...so don't let the fireworks be the only things sparkling this 4th. Add some bling to your body. How about a couple of Kate Spade rings? Be the belle of the ball with this crystal ring or let your friends decide which sparkles more...the fireworks or this mushroom ring. If the ring is not yo' thing, try sending a flare of your own into the midnight sky with this Juicy Couture midnight swag stone pyramid cuff bracelet. You can find these awe-inspiring little fashion fireworks at Nordstrom.

Since your clothes will be giving off so much heat, cool down with some H2o. The health-conscious fashionista will already be drinking the recommended 8 or 9 cups of water every day. Now, every diva's different. Some of us are more active than others. Either way, water is a must. Water makes up 60% of your body weight. It flushes toxins out of vital organs and provides a healthy environment for the ears, nose, and throat.

You lose water every day through breathing, perspiration, urine and ah-hem...number 2. You know what I'm talking about. So it's crucial that you replenish the agua. Do it with style.
Here are some star ice cubes from www.icecubetray.net you can use during your 4th of July celebration to wow your guests.

You can also blow them away by dropping some raspberries or blueberries into your ice cube tray. This way, you and your guests can stay hydrated with style, and still show your Independent streak as you celebrate the red, white, and blue this 4th of July.

And don't forget, with Palette 2 Palate, color is in all year 'round!

Sizzlin' Summer Sunshine

Summer officially starts June 21st, so get ready to look sizzlin' hot! Let the sunshine infuse your closet with some yellow! If you're bikini-ready (ummm...that means no muffin-tops, and I know you know what I mean!), heat up the pool when you show up in this hot bikini number like the one above from Forever 21.

If you ARE sporting the muffin top mentioned earlier...please honey, work the accessories instead! Let this amazing Juicy Couture yellow flower "Flights of Fancy" ring tickle your fancy and this Melie Bianco faux leather tote both from Nordstrom brighten your outfit. With high temperatures expected this summer, I expect you'll want to cool off your toes with a stylish yellow sandal like this one from Nine West. The right yellow handbag and sandal combo will go well with any sun dress you might already have in your closet. Add the twist of yellow, and you'll light up that old favorite.

If you were poolside during the day, and now you want to show off your tanned shoulders, I found this ruffled silk halter from BCBG. I think halter tops are perfect for a night out on the town, especially if you add a black pencil or mini skirt..WOW HOT HOT HOT! If you're wearing a flowing yellow evening dress instead, try adding a draping gold necklace. You can spice up a plain yellow tank or v-neck tee shirt with fashion jewelry that gives off hints of gold. Something like this beautiful antique gold shade tree necklace I found at Banana Republic can make your yellow positively beam.

These long, hot summer days are the perfect time to fire up the barbecue, or invite friends over to hang out. During these gatherings, don't forget to wear what you eat!!! I can see you now...sporting your hot yellow bikini and heating up the grill for your guests. Why not throw on one of the summer's most popular vegetables...corn?!

Sweet yellow corn is an excellent source of Folate and Thiamin, a.k.a Vitamin B. The body needs Thiamin to form Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP) which is used to produce energy in every cell of the body. You're going to need that energy if you plan to be active in the summer heat.

If one of your girlfriends is expecting a bundle of joy, help a sister out and put some corn on her plate because it also provides folate which mamas need for their little buns in the oven. Taking folate during pregnancy helps women prevent anemia.

After the delicious BBQ, you can help you guests cool down with plenty of water to keep them hydrated! We don't want anyone passing out from the heat, and not being able to see you in your splendor! Add some pineapple as a garnish to your water to give it that summer flare and a touch of Vitamin C to help them stay healthy.

That's it for now! Enjoy your summer season!! I can't wait to help you dress in even more luscious summer colors, and show you the matching fruits and veggies to help you stay fit!

Don't forget with Palette 2 Palate color is in all year 'round!!
